KLAYS FOR KIDS

NFL Alumni Charity Shotgun Shoot

The NFL Alumni Association, in conjunction with NRA Sports and the Wildlife Committee of Washington / Kenmore Ranges, held its 2nd annual "Klays for Kids" shotgun tournament with the proceeds going to benefit various greater Seattle children's charities.

The tournament consisted of rounds of trap and 5-stand for a total of 100 birds. Each squad had a member of the NFL alumni as one of its members and competed as a team.

A number of new and inexperienced shooters participated, so we had a lot of experienced club volunteers coaching and helping these folks on the line. Beginning with a safety and shotgun orientation and continuing with help on the line, everyone had a safe, trouble free day of fun.

The team with the Kenmore shooters and Alonzo Mitz took the top team honors after winning an exciting shoot-off. Rick Rekdal took top honors in the individual catagory, and Brett Wiese ended as the top NFL shooter.

Prologue
Good fun, good food, and good weather. All in all a very enjoyable day. The real winners were the children's charities which will receive a good chunk of change. A big thank you to all the participants and volunteers for making this another successful event.
